Bicyclists of all ages and abilities are encouraged to attend a public meeting on Wednesday, March 5th to discuss the formation of a bicycle advocacy group in the northern part of Chaffee County. The meeting will be at 7:00 pm at the Buena Vista Community Center. Come out and see old friends and meet new riding partners as we anticipate a great 2008 cycling season!
For the past two months, a group of local cyclists have been working to develop a framework for a cycling group that aims to serve the interests of all bicycle enthusiasts regardless of discipline, age, or ability. The Club will be a not for profit entity which will serve a variety of purposes including bicycling education and advocacy, route maintenance, route development, special events, local economic development, community service, as well as social and group ride functions.
In addition to providing information regarding the organizational structure, the group will seek to register members and identify interested parties for a variety of roles within the organization. All bicyclists in the area are welcome. For more information please contact Steering Committee Co-Chairs Andrew Miller at 221-3809 or Kep Heinitz at 285-4338.
