Colorado Mountain College is pleased to announce a concert not to be missed. This coming Friday and Saturday evenings The CMC JaZz PROJECT will be presenting a “Cure for the Winter Blues Concert”. This is actually a rescheduled and reworked version of their annual Winter Concert which was cancelled due to severe winter weather conditions. Selections for the concert will include: music from the Count Basie library, traditional New Orleans Style, Foot-Tappin’ Funk and tunes by current masters like Gordon Goodwin. Highlighting this concert will be a very special tribute to jazz legend Stan Kenton and his band featuring music performed by the Kenton Orchestras from the 30’s through the 70’s. The ensemble will also debut a new original work written for the CMC JaZz PROJECT by local composer/arranger Bill Murphy. This concert is FREE and open to the public. The first performance will be held on: FRIDAY – MARCH 14th – at 7:00 pm – in the United Methodist Church located at 4th & “D” streets in Salida. The second show will be held on SATURDAY – MARCH 15th – at 7:00 pm - in the auditorium of Valley Fellowship Church located at 608 South San Juan in Buena Vista. Come and enjoy an evening of great music. Don’t miss it!
