Last night brought a decent crowd to the Community Center for a candidate Q&A forum sponsored by the League of Women Voters. There are six candidates running for five available seats on the town board. Questions posed by the audience involved everything from whether Buena Vista has enough water to support incoming growth to the adequacy of our trail system to issues of home rule and alternative energy. Each candidate had the opportunity to speak about their personal goals for what they would like to accomplish as a town trustee.
Karen Dils, the League of Women Voters, and students from the high school government class did an excellent job hosting the event. If you were unable to attend or to catch the broadcast of the forum on BVTV there will be copies available at the Buena Vista Public Library. In addition, ChannelBV has invited the candidates to participate in a discussion on the ChannelBV forums. Please feel free to ask questions or leave comments for the candidates at this link.
