As part of our Participatory Culture series of articles and events, and in hopes of shedding more light on what we are trying to do here at ChannelBV, we are hosting an event for Chaffee county Businesses and Non-Profits. On Wednesday, April 16 at 7:00, ChannelBV invites you and your organization to a free seminar at the Sangre de Cristo Community room. We will be giving a short presentation on simple, powerful, low-cost-to-no-cost methods for creating real, valuable, connections with your community. Whether you are a business in search of new customers, a non-profit trying to mobilize your base, or an individual looking for new ways to share and spread your ideas, this seminar will get you started in the right direction. The topics covered in our presentation and Q&A will include the free and easy-to-use communication and collaboration tools such as Blogs, Wikis, social networks, commonly referred to as Web 2.0. But don’t get bogged down by this technical term; Web 2.0 is simply a new way to engage people in conversation so they can get to know you and trust you. You and your organization. And who likes to do business with people they know and trust? Everybody. That’s the power of community connections. That’s the power of Web 2.0.
So come see us, have a cup of coffee and a chat - Next Wednesday at 7 at Sangre de Cristo. See you there! (No need to RSVP but feel free to email questions about the event ahead of time to events@channelbv.net)
