If you have never had the pleasure of standing - or shall I say swaying and dancing - among a crowd of smiling faces absorbing the live performance given by Hazel Miller and her band you may just find yourself lucky come this August. For her second year in a row Hazel Miller will be headlining the Collegiate Peaks Music Festival.
Hazel’s performance is more than just about music. Her stage presence is genuine and graceful, full of laughter and love. In the words of the Rocky Mountain News, “she is a force of nature”. And, according to the Denver Post, “Hazel Miller is a coal-fired steam engine of soul who never fails to deliver the goods.”
The biography on her website reads:
Hazel has been a sought after performer in Colorado for the past 23 years. Whether she is singing blues, Jazz, pop, or Gospel, her voice charges the songs with a primal dose of genuine soul.
She has been the opening performer for artists such as Brian Adams, BB King, Herbie Hancock, Earth, Wind, and Fire, and James Brown among others. She has also been invited to perform with the likes of Buddy Guy and Colorado favorites Big Head Todd & The Monsters.
