Classical and Classic.
Music for Spring

The Orpheum Theatre is proud to bring home three of Buena Vista’s very own musicians, fresh from their May Melodies success at the Salida Steam Plant.

At 7.00 pm on June11th ,violinist Noelle Hogan will open the show with a series of classical pieces featuring not only her own great talent, but also that of her students.

The rest of the program stars vocalist Receene Bernhardt, accompanied on piano by Cec Hogarth. They will present an evening of songs, some familiar, some less so, from the 1920’s, 30’s and 40’s – the heyday of America’s finest song-writers.

Receene and Cec have their own distinctive style, intimate and relaxed, but founded on impressive musicianship. Their rapport is startling and their affection for the Great American Songbook is evident. Their enjoyment of the music and appreciation of each other is infectious. If you heard them in “Always, Patsy Cline” in December, or in the CMC Big Band Swing Concert in April, you have observed two facets of their talent. Playing as a duo, however, is what they do when they really want to have fun and to share it with an audience!

The Orpheum Theatre is still in the process of renovating its impressive historical structure. The Theatre welcomes the chance to promote its mission to showcase talent in order to enrich the cultural life of Chaffee County’s residents and visitors.

Tickets are $8 in advance, or $10 at the door. Students - $5. Children under 12 - free.

Of the ticket sales half will go towards the renovation efforts of the Orpheum Theatre, and half to the Chaffee County Mammography Fund.
