Operation Round Up® Helping Our Community

The Operation Round Up® board went to work again at their May board meeting. They were able to help the Alliance Against Domestic Abuse purchase a Playcenter playground for their emergency shelter. The board commended the Alliance for their work with all the victims of domestic abuse, but particularly for their work with children.
The board also funded the Chaffee County Habitat for Humanity to purchase building materials for a new duplex which will be located in Buena Vista.

Operation Round Up® is a community service program developed to gather voluntary contributions from participating members by ‘rounding up’ their monthly bill to the next dollar. The amount collected goes in the Round Up account and is administered by a board of directors who review applications for funding and determine how the collected funds will be disbursed. Currently there are over 1,500 Sangre De Cristo Electric members participating in the program. The more members that participate in the program, the more community based organizations, like the Ambulance Corps can enjoy donations. Members can sign-up to participate at any time and are encouraged to join in having their small change make a big difference.
Donations are available to local individuals and organizations that need a boost. If you’re not participating in the program and would like to, contact Sangre De Cristo Electric at (719) 395-2412 in the area or (800) 933-3823 outside the area.
