OK, so Buena Vista just hosted the first kayak pro rodeo this May… now this weekend its time to welcome the other kind of rodeo to town. Friday and Saturday, July 11 and 12 get ready for some bronc and bull riding, steer wrestling, barrel racing, tie down roping, team roping, breakaway roping, and of course, the local kids in the mutton busting and steer riding. There will also be a great parade down East Main Street featuring many horses and their riders starting at 10am on Saturday.
If you are curious about the history of rodeos and want to know some greater detail about the events or read some viewpoints as to some of the controversy surrounding this sport, check out this link.
Hope to see you at the fairgrounds this weekend.
