An expert in the utilization of the land use concept “Agriburbia,, which integrates food production as an integral element in the community design, social network and financial viability of the neighborhood, Quint Redmond will address the “Sustainability Showcase and Celebration” Sept 27 at the Orpheum Theatre in Buena Vista.

As a native Coloradan, he developed an early love of both nature and entrepreneurship. His early exposure to ranching and agriculture has evolved into a unique blended expertise in technology, the natural sciences and land development. He holds degrees in Geology, Urban and Regional planning and Landscape Architecture.

He and his wife, a biologist and planner, opened The TSR Group in 1997, and designed computer tools to provide financial, scheduling and technical analysis related to he sustainability of new projects. The firm is currently involved with numerous sustainable mixed-use development projects locally and around the globe.

The Sustainability Showcase & Celebration is being organized by Colorado Mountain College and will focus on three main topics: Renewable Energy, Local Food Production and Sustainable Economic Development.

Speakers will make presentations on these topics over the full-day event, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 27 at the Orpheum Theatre and other nearby locations.

The “Showcase” refers to the trade show which will be set up both inside and outside of the Orpheum Theatre starting Saturday morning, for businesses, organizations or individuals wishing to display or promote their “green” products or services. Booth spaces will be available for $50.00.

Other highlights of the day include, a mini “Farmer’s Market,” offering locally-produced foods and other products, music and entertainment, which will continue into the evening’s “Community Mixer.”

Cost for the event, which includes presentations by experts in their fields and  free entrance to the Showcase and Community Mixer is $10.00 at the door.
