Thursday Aug 7 at 1 PM in the Sangre de Cristo Community room, Senator Ken Salazar will be hosting a Brown Canyon meeting along with Senator Allard’s State Director, Andy Merritt, to talk about how to move the Browns Canyon Wilderness Legislation forward.
Quoted from his official website, “The Browns Canyon area is quintessential Colorado; the area boasts some of Colorado’s most pristine forests, great hunting and fishing habitat and draws outdoor enthusiasts from across Colorado and the country during nearly every season,” said Senator Salazar. “It is very much deserving of this wilderness designation and protection.
“I am also particularly proud of the broad support from local stakeholders for the proposed wilderness designation. Without their action and advice, the work to protect Browns Canyon would still be in its infancy. I look forward to working with my colleagues and passing this much-needed protection for Browns Canyon.”
A ChannelBV reader let us know about this meeting and says Senator Salazar has also invited the opposition to come and tell their side of the story. If you are interested in making Brown’s Canyon a permanent wilderness area or if you are opposed to the measure, please come this meeting ready to discuss your points.
