Jeff Crank the Candidate of Substance - Crank says hold me accountable for better leadership

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - Jeff Crank, Republican candidate for Congress in Colorado’s Fifth Congressional District, today announced his plans for the first five pieces of legislation he will propose in Congress next year.

“We’ve discussed a lot of great ideas on this campaign,” said Crank. “We’ve set the standard and asked voters to keep us accountable. I want voters to know where I stand, but more so what I’m going to do about it. As they cast their ballots next week I think they will vote for me because they know what my priorities are and what I plan to do in Congress,” said Crank.

Crank has proposed the following pieces of legislation that he will introduce in 2009:

  1. A base-closure like process to implement an independent review board to help cut government waste and spending
  2. Daily pay cut for Members of Congress if the budget is not complete by the October 1 deadline
  3. Elimination of the U.S. Departments of Commerce and Energy, National Endowment for the Arts and Humanities and the elimination of OSHA
  4. Initiative to drill oil in ANWR
  5. A balanced federal budget amendment

“It’s time we elect someone with a plan that we can hold accountable. I will not just go to Washington to vote, I’ll go there to make a difference and take the good ideas I’ve gotten from constituents and work to bring them to fruition,” said Crank. “The days of hearing our legislators say they can’t get something done because of bureaucracy are over. If that’s the case, then let’s change the bureaucracy and get some real things done for America.”
