The Chaffee County Visitor’s Bureau will focus on planning its 2009 budget at the next monthly board meeting Tuesday, Aug. 26 at 1 p.m. In the third floor meeting room of the Chaffee County Courthouse at 104 Crestone in Salida.
The public is encouraged to attend this meeting to learn about and comment on the Visitor’s Bureau plans for marketing tourism in 2009. In addition to the budget, other agenda items include an update on the web site contract award, marketing director position and grant process.
A 3-minute public comment period is provided at the beginning of each regular meeting. Those requesting more detailed presentations are asked to contact Chair Greg Ralph at 719.530.5080 or email him at greg[at]skimonarch.com.
The mission of the CCVB is to promote a friendly environment that attracts visitors year-round to Chaffee County by offering them a wide variety of desirable activities, adventures and services. The Bureau is funded by a 1.9 percent tax paid by lodging guests that generates some $300,000 in annual revenue.
