Since ChannelBV launched this February, we (the writers) have striven to speak with a neutral, objective voice. We continue to stand by this editorial policy in the hopes that the people who do feel strongly about an issue one way or another will feel comfortable stepping forward in the comments or the forums to voice their opinions and ideas. And while we continue to work for this kind of conversation, ChannelBV will be shifting how we pursue those goals. Going forward, what we’re going to need most of all is your help. Yes, you dear reader. More information about the changes will be in tomorrows post. Our apologies for the “Exciting news! Film at 11!” style messaging here but since you, the reader, are at the center of the changes, we wanted to ensure that we invited you to the conversation about that change. So, tell your friends and hope to see you all tomorrow here at ChannelBV.
Until then, Maureen Dowd over at the NY Times had the brilliant idea to ask Aaron Sorkin, creator of the incredibly popular show, “The West Wing”, to dig into his idea bag to find the transcript of an interaction between legendary fictional president Jed Bartlet and Presidential Candidate, Barak Obama. All I can say is that it’s laugh out loud funny and spot on.
BARTLET ….What can I do for you, kid?
OBAMA I’m interested in your advice.
BARTLET I can’t give it to you.
OBAMA Why not?
BARTLET I’m supporting McCain.
OBAMA Why?
BARTLET He’s promised to eradicate evil and that was always on my “to do” list.
OBAMA O.K. —
And then it gets a little more partisan from there… Click here for the rest of their “conversation”. If you liked the show (or happen to be an Obama supporter), it’s a must read.

I’m thinking your readers might enjoy the blog, “Patchwork Nation”.
Patchwork Nation consists of America’s 3,142 counties, divided into 11 community types on the basis of certain demographic characteristics, such as income level or racial composition. No shouting, and no spewing of political rhetoric, rather an intelligent look at voter trends and how issues are perceived. There’s also a survey you can take to compare yourself with the trends in your community.
