The Operation Round Up® board went to work again at their August board meeting. The Operation Round Up® board decided to give financial support to Cornerstone TGIF so they can continue to provide meals to youths in our community every Friday afternoon. Cornerstone TGIF also tries to offer area youths a place that shows them that our community loves and supports them on their life’s journey. Brian Dengler started the program last year and offers youths from Chaffee County, Darren Patterson, and Buena Vista High School a meal and some time just to be kids and socialize. Since the program started, they serve meals to anywhere from 50 to 83 students on Friday and offer them the ability to build long lasting relationships. Brian Dengler believes that, “Supporting our youth supports our community and that builds relationships that last a lifetime.”
