applebobbing.jpgIts hard not to feel that autumn may have just come to an abrupt halt this past week as an early season storm brought freezing temperatures and accumulated snow to the streets of Buena Vista. But never fear, with highs in the low 60’s, the forecast for this weekend is looking quite optimistic. A quick visit to the bvwx website will remind you that occasional freezing temperatures and snow are actually quite normal for the month of October.

In case the storm this week actually was a harbinger of days soon to come, you may want to make a point of making the best out of your outdoors time this weekend.

For starters, the Buena Vista High School Demons football team will be playing their final home game of the regular season tonight at 7 pm against Steamboat Springs. Go Demons!

Just in case you have not yet had your fill of apple bobbing, pumpkin carving, scarecrow designing, cow-pie bingoing, and hay riding for the year, the 2nd annual Pumpkin Patch Festival is happening on both Saturday and Sunday. The event is being held at the Cottonwood Meadows property, so, if you’ve never been there before, you may want to check it out before casting that vote… And, more importantly, I’ve heard that the best chocolate chip cookies in the valley are going to be offered at the bake sale.

So get out and enjoy the great weather this weekend (I know we will be!)
