The Boys & Girls Clubs of Chaffee County (BGCCC) provides a safe place with proven after school & summer developmental programs to over 700 children ages 6-14 through the Salida and Buena Vista clubs. The Club’s Board of Directors oversees the operation, sets policy, and locally raises $145,000 of the $500,000 annual budget.

A new three-year term for Directors will begin January 16, 2009. The Board will have up to 6 precious seats to fill. The Board membership is designed to represent the county demographics with members from a variety of backgrounds, experiences, and skills. At this time the Board is seeking members of all ages with expertise in sales, finance, management, personnel policies, and/or fundraising. Board members have a variety of responsibilities depending upon their personal interests and time availability.

The BGCCC Board is a working board with 7 active committees and 4 annual community events that Board members help organize. Meetings are held once a month, and board orientation and ongoing training are provided. Board members are united by their commitment to the Club’s mission to inspire and empower all youth to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.
