ChannelBV reader, Dustin Urban, submitted this recent Let Your Life Speak blog post, A Letter to Senator Salazar on Health Care Reform. From the letter:

The first and most effective step the new administration and the Democractic Congress can make in shifting the focus from sickness to wellness is abolish all corn subsidies. It is a travesty that we subsidize corn at a rate of roughly $5 Billion per year in this country. And it is a myth that this helps small farmers….

Until policy makers and citizens in America make the fairly basic connection between our widespread illness and the food we put into our bodies, we will never improve our health. Any health care policy that ignores this simple fact is a waste of time and money.
