Instructor Marilyn Moore, GARNA Board, Denver County Master Gardner for 17 years, horticulture volunteer at Denver Botanic Gardens and co-leader for several wildflower hikes at the Crested Butte Wildflower Festival will lead a trip on Cottonwood Pass. Learn how these exquisite jewels of the plant world survive and thrive in one of the most inhospitable environments on earth. Class will be held on Saturday, July 11. If carpooling meet at 8:00 AM in the parking lot west of Salida Safeway, 8:45 AM at BV True Value Hardware on Hwy 24 or 9:30 AM at Cottonwood Pass Parking area. Bring layers for weather, lunch, water, a hand lens if possible and The Alpine Flower Finder by Wingate and Yeatts (available at the AHRA office, 307 W. Sackett St & the USFS, 325 W Rainbow Blvd in Salida) or your favorite alpine flower guide. The cost is $5 for GARNA members, $15 for non-members or join GARNA at an individual or family level and the class is free!
